老子道徳経[編集]

Sorry for not speaking japonese…

Through Wikidata, C933103 find out that 老子道徳経 is in chinese and it's just a copy of zh:老子 (匯校版). I don't know the rules here but usually wikisources don't keep duplicate like that.

(Oppose) Japanese Wikisource accepts classical Chinese texts because they are closely related to classical Japanese culture and language. Let me give you an example. Mèng Hàorán's (孟浩然) Spring Dawn (春暁) is, needless to say, a classical Chinese poem. However, annotation called "kunten" enables to translate it into classical Japanese (春眠暁を覚えず／処処啼鳥を聞く／ 夜来風雨の声／花落つること知る多少). 『老子道徳経』(Laozi Tao Te Ching) also should be kept because we are waiting for someone to add kunten. Thanks Sat.d.h. for these explanations. I totally understand and agree on the « having texts in kanbun » (other wikisources - do more or less - the same) but I don't fully get why you want to keep the text in chinese in double. I also appreciate your understanding. I have to admit that 老子道徳経 on Japanese Wikisource has no Japanese elements like below.
  1. kanbun with kunten (annotation for Japanese) or kakikudashi (classical Japanese translation)
  2. kanbun written in Japanese syntax (these texts look like classical Chinese, but its grammar is different from standard classical Chinese)
  3. kanbun written by Japanese people (the intelligentsia like Natsume Sōseki and Sugawara no Michizane wrote some works in classical Chinese)
  4. kanbun converted to modern Japanese writing system (using Japanese characters and punctuation)
The 老子道徳経 uses Chinese punctuation like colons and quotation marks, so I cannot make a counterargument anymore. It seems that there is no choice but to remove it.
But I want to ask you a question before agreeing. On which Wikisource do Wikisourcers post ancient Greek works? They post the texts on Greek Wikisource even if they can't understand modern Greek language and therefore the local rules of Greek Wikisource? Or how about Latin? --Sat.d.h. Sat.d.h. Thank you. There is no hurry, please don't hesitate to discuss more about this case.
For Latin, it's easy as there is a specific Wikisource in latin (and a quite active one, I may add). For ancient Greek, most of them go on the Greek Wikisource (even if el.wikiource.org « el » stands for « modern greek », this Wikisource is for greek from any time period) but there is a Old Greek Wikisource in incubation too. Old French (which is mostly ununderstandable nowadays) is stored at fr.ws too. The unwritten global rule is something like : every text should have a place to be stored (ultimately it can be store in the multilingual wikisource but if there is a active Wikisource in a not-too-far language it's better). Here the problem is different as the text is stored at two places (zh and ja).
